This water route, should be taken in summer carrying swimsuit, to enjoy one of the most beautiful pools of all that can be found in the path along the brook Agullón. Another attraction is its exclusivity, very few people know it, so it is almost guaranteed to walk alone or with the chosen companions.
The third attraction is the beautiful views and purity of water.
The tour begins from the parking Morcuera's shelter, almost 2 km towards Rascafría from the pass with the same name.
It is convenient to make the journey north, almost parallel to the road, to overcome Cerro Merino (1717 m). Descend through the firewall to reach the altitude 1631 m. Keep then heading southwest through the firewall to the Purgatorio waterfall. Bringing the Arroyo del Agullón find the pools to rest, to start back ascending the river to reach the forest track turning left leads us to the barracks and parallel to the stream of Weeds brings us back to Refugio Morcuera.

 Esta ruta podría llamarse la ruta del agua, pues es recomendable realizarla en verano y con traje de baño, para poder disfrutar de una de las pozas más bellas, recogidas y solitarias de todas las que podemos encontrar en el recorrido a lo largo del Arroyo del Agullón. Otro de los atractivos de la misma es su exclusividad, muy poca gente la conoce, por lo que es casi garantizado el caminar en solitario o con los acompañantes elegidos.El tercer aliciente son las bellas vistas y la pureza de las aguas.

Comienza el recorrido desde el aparcamiento del refugio de la Morcuera, a casi 2 km en dirección Rascafría del puerto del mismo nombre.

Es conveniente realizar el recorrido en dirección norte, casi paralelo a la carretera, para superar Cerro Merino (1717 m). Descendemos por el cortafuegos hasta alcanzar la cota 1631 m enfilando a continuación en dirección SO por el cortafuegos hacia la Cascada del Purgatorio. Ascendiendo el Arroyo del Agullón encontramos las pozas donde descansar, para emprender el regreso ascendiendo el arroyo hasta alcanzar la pista forestal que girando a la izquierda nos dirige a Los Barracones y paralela al arroyo de las Malezas nos trae de vuelta al Refugio de la Morcuera.
