I have climbed the Franz Josef Glacier in New Zealand, trekked the mountains of Sapa in Vietnam, hiked around the Lake District in the UK, walked the Blue Mountains of Australia and explored the beauty of Yosemite but I always come home to Spain.
Home is in the Sierra de Guadarrama national park, just an hour from Madrid yet a world away in terms of scenery and tranquility. This mountain range has a rich history and stunning walks, many of which are unmarked and so rarely visited.
